Mounting NTFS partition in RHEL5

Today i tried to access the NTFS partitions from Linux.
I was unable to mount using the normal mount command…
I then found that my kernel did not recognize the NTHS/HPFS filesystems…
view this information from …

cat /proc/filesystems

Now I came to know that this can by done by installing an external application called fuse

There it works… now I am able to mount it normally…
